Lake Eyasi — Hadzabe & Datoga Cultural Experience

After breakfast, travel to Lake Eyasi, a beautiful and less-visited area southwest of the Ngorongoro Highlands. This region is home to the Hadzabe, one of Tanzania’s indigenous hunter-gatherer communities, and the Datoga people, known for their traditional metalwork and pastoral lifestyle.

Join a respectful, guide-led cultural visit to learn about Hadzabe traditions, including hunting techniques, gathering wild honey, and their deep knowledge of the bush. Lake Natron’s mineral-rich waters create remarkable shades of pink, red, and green, while its shallow shores provide important habitat for flamingos and other birdlife. Arrive in the late afternoon, check in at your tented camp, then enjoy a guided walk near the lake, birdwatching, and a memorable Rift Valley sunset.
