    Day 1

Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve

Your safari begins with a warm meet-and-greet at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or your Nairobi hotel, where you will meet our tours manager and your driver-guide. After a short safari briefing, depart for the Masai Mara, pausing at a Great Rift Valley viewpoint for panoramic views and photo opportunities.

The Great Rift Valley is one of Kenya’s most striking natural landscapes, stretching across the country and featuring escarpments, plains, fertile farmland, and a chain of lakes. Descend to the valley floor and continue to the Masai Mara National Reserve, arriving in time for lunch at your camp or lodge.

After a short rest, head out on your first afternoon game drive at approximately 4:00 pm. Look for elephants, lions, cheetahs, buffalo, zebras, giraffes, and other wildlife as you explore the reserve’s open grasslands. Return to your camp or lodge for dinner and overnight.

Full-Day Game Drives in Masai Mara

Spend a full day exploring the Masai Mara with morning and afternoon game drives, departing at approximately 6:30 am and 4:00 pm. The reserve forms part of the wider Mara–Serengeti ecosystem, shared with Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park, and is renowned for its abundant wildlife and wide-open savannah.

Your guide will help you search for the reserve’s well-known predators, including lions, cheetahs, and leopards, as well as elephants, rhinos, buffalo, hyenas, jackals, and large herds of plains game such as topi, impala, gazelle, warthog, and zebra.

Between July and October, the Masai Mara may offer opportunities to witness the Great Wildebeest Migration, when large herds move across the plains in search of fresh grazing. Wildlife movements vary by season and cannot be guaranteed.

Return to your camp or lodge for all meals and overnight.
